Meet Ms. Ventimiglia
Education:
I am proud to say that I graduated from Michigan State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. The following fall I began my year long internship of student teaching in Detroit Public Schools in a first grade classroom. There, I gained valuable experience that has helped guide me within my first years of teaching. After completing my student teaching in May of 2010, I began applying for full time elementary teaching jobs and landed a fabulous job in Grosse Pointe, Michigan in a second grade classroom. I have been fortunate enough to stay in this job ever since and have been teaching at Mason Elementary in a second grade classroom for three years now. Throughout my first few years of teaching I have been completing my Masters of Arts in Education through Michigan State University and will graduate in May 2013. My experiences in the classroom have coupled with my education through Michigan State University to prepare me for the teaching community, helping me continue to be a reflective and passionate teacher.
Personal Life:
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with family and friends and watching Michigan State basketball and football. I also enjoy taking Zumba classes, integrating working out and dancing! It's a fabulous stress reliever at the end of the day. I love it so much that I am now a certified Zumba instructor. In the future I hope to teach ZumbaTomic, which is Zumba instruction for children ages 4-12. I think it is so important for children to stay active by doing something that they enjoy. I reward myself with a little bit of shopping and chocolate from time to time too!
